Pagasa administrator Nathaniel Servando said the first tropical cyclone that would hit in September would be named “Kiko.”

Servando said there would be above-normal rainfall conditions in most parts of the country that can trigger floods and landslides in vulnerable areas.
He cited model forecasts that suggested an increasing probability of short-lived La Niña conditions from September until December.
Pagasa said La Niña is characterized by unusually cooler-than-average sea surface temperatures in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific., This news data comes from:http://771bg.com

When conditions are favorable for the development of La Niña within the next six months and the probability is 55 percent or more, a La Niña Watch is issued, the Pagasa chief said.
